Webcam Valfrejus - Station

Valfrejus 1550m - 2737m has a good snow record with mainly north facing slopes and a number of "sunny" slopes. We have 7 lifts, servicing 25 pistes: 3 green, 12 blue, 6 red and 4 black, but for those of you looking for off-piste skiing, we have acres! Have a look at the piste map.

Snow White is situated just 100m above the main lift station (pictured in this live webcam), and at the end of the day you have a choice of runs that pass within 150m of the chalet, allowing you to avoid the steep walk up from the village. When there is sufficient snow, accomplished skiers can ski right back to the Chalet door!

We have two ski schools, the red (ESF) and blue (ESI), although not all the instructors speak english, and our local expert Yves Bayle (who does speak good english) who offers private instruction and off-piste guiding who can really put the powder skiers through their paces, offering heli-skiing if you want the ultimate in off-piste thrills.

Although traditionally people come on a skiing holiday expecting to ski in the resort for the whole week, a number of our guests have used us as a base to explore and ski the multitude of small resorts in the Maurienne Valley (also known as the Secret Valley because so few people know of it outside France).

You may well have heard of resorts such as Valloire, but there are lots of others around that are worth visiting. La Norma, our closest neighbour is great for a change of scenery. Aussois (south facing) is a good choice if you want to ski in the sun all day. Val Cenis is a larger resort with loads of open skiing. Les Karellis, one of our favourite day trips, is typically free from the madding crowds, and finally there is Orelle (20km drive) which is our gateway to the massive and renowned Three Valleys with one of the largest ski areas in the world!

You might be interested in knowing that a weekly Valfrejus lift pass gets you up to a 40% discount on daily tickets at the other resorts in the Maurienne Valley. Alternatively, Valfrejus offers the "Eskimo" pass that gives you the freedom to ski at any of FIVE resorts during your stay, Valfrejus, La Norma, Aussois, Val Cenis and Bonneval, and still entitles you to a discount at the other resorts such as Orelle (and The Three Valleys). Check out the lift passes here.
